But what times do you book them for? 

This depends on what type of event you are hosting, and what you want to capture. 

For an 18th, a great time to book your photographer is from 8:30pm. This way you can still get some group family and friends shots, as well as the fun moments on the dance floor.

For a 21st, or any event with more formalities as well as the dancing side, it depends on when your formalities are happening and what you want to capture.

In this occasion, you want the photographer to capture some family shots, the formalities (such as the speeches and cake cutting), as well as dancing shots. If you want more photos of family, book your photographer from 7:30 – 10pm. If you want more party dancing shots, book them from 8 – 10:30pm.

This way you can get photos of all the key moments from the event, and have a timeline of moments to look back on.
