Midsole is our “Perfect Song Selector”, he knows exactly what to play and when to play it. He is looked up to in the industry for his expertise in reading a crowd and sharp skills on the turntables. Despite his high skill level, he is still always humble and friendly. His heart lies with RnB and Hip Hop, but he can fill a dancefloor with any kind of music.
Midsole has rocketed upwards in the industry over the past ten years, becoming a fixture in the Perth nightclub scene with his line-up of residencies. He has flown across the globe to develop his name as an industry star; in 2018 he claimed his 4th win as a WA DMC Champion, and also won the title as the 2018 Australian DMC Champion who placed 6th at the World DMCs in London. He has also supported international artists such as A-Trak, Baauer, Grandtheft and A$AP Ferg. Midsole is putting his experience to good use as Head DJ Instructor at Lab Six Australia, passing down years of knowledge and industry experience to young aspiring DJs.
Midsole is an expert crowd reader and is always ready to set the right tone for any and every type of event. Clients can trust Midsole for his professionalism, humility and ability to cater to any crowd.

Lab Six Australia – Since joining the Lab Six team in February of 2017, Paulo (aka Midsole) has carefully passed down his years of knowledge and industry experience to his students engulfed in the world of DJing. Paulo’s talent and copious amounts of exposure in the scene allowed him to gain a multitude of nightclub residencies throughout Perth as well as support and DJ alongside international artists including A-Trak, Baauer, Grandtheft, A$AP Ferg, Lunice, and Mr. Carmack to name a few. Apart from Paulo’s passion for mixing a wide array of music, it was the art of turntablism that really enticed him into self-teaching himself to DJ in 2011. In a short period of time Paulo quickly made his mark in Perth’s DJ and music scene. His world-class technical abilities on the turntables lead him to win the DMC Australia Scratch Title in 2018, taking him to London where he placed #6 in the world.
